The centerpiece of RealNetworks' music business is Rhapsody America, a joint venture with Viacom, Inc. The company enables customers to access digital music content anytime, anywhere, from a variety of devices. Subscription music: Rhapsody Unlimited and Rhapsody To Go are subscription based services that offer unlimited access to a catalog of more than 6 million music tracks and hundreds of thousands of albums. With Rhapsody Unlimited, music lovers can listen to music on their PC and through TiVo. With Rhapsody To Go, customers can take their music with them and enjoy it wherever they want on myriad music devices. Both services allow music lovers to discover new music risk-free, organize and share playlists, and enjoy the convenience of listening to hundreds of music channels, including custom channels they design themselves. Other services: The Rhapsody mp3 store allows customers to purchase tracks for their iPod or other mp3 device without the cumbersome limits of DRM (digital rights management) restrictions. In addition, Rhapsody offers free music play services for some of the most popular music websites, including Yahoo! Music. Rhapsody.com also provides a free, advertising supported version of Rhapsody where consumers can listen to up to 25 free songs per month. Verizon V-Cast Music with Rhapsody: In June 2008, Verizon Wireless and Rhapsody joined forces to offer Verizon Wireless V-Cast customers the ability to subscribe to Rhapsody To Go through their phone service. With more than a dozen Rhapsody-enabled handsets, the service gives Verizon customers all the great music-discovery and collecting benefits of Rhapsody, plus the convenience of combined phone and music service billing.
