We do this in two ways: directly to consumers through our applications and services; and through partnerships with well-established businesses and mobile operators throughout the world.

This philosophy and approach reaches back more than 15 years, when RealNetworks first gave the Internet a voice with the first audio streaming solution for the Internet, RealAudio®. Continued innovation led to generations of RealVideo® and what is now known as RealPlayer®, which has now been downloaded more than 100 million times at a continued rate of millions of downloads per week.

Today, RealNetworks continues to thrive on providing new ways of delivering high-quality digital entertainment—across an all-embracing range of devices and platforms—as quickly and easily as possible.

Our applications and services help consumers organize, purchase, and play different forms of digital entertainment—such as music, games, and video. And they help businesses deliver digital entertainment to a variety of mobile and consumer devices, in addition to providing personalized and entertaining mobile messaging services for consumers.

Currently, our major lines of business include:

  • GameHouse, a leading, vertically integrated and global casual video games business;

  • Emerging Products, which includes RealPlayer software and development of new multi-screen, multi-device and multi-platform media services; and

  • Core Products, which provides SaaS media and entertainment services to wireless carriers around the world, and manages the consumer subscription offerings of SuperPass and RadioPass.
